â¶Ä‹

I would like to extend a warm welcome back to new and existing VPSHS families as we commence Term 1, 2022 on Monday 7 February 2022. I will be encouraging all students to have high expectations for themselves and others; believe in their ability to perform at their very best both at school and in life and succeed through their actions in the classroom to Learn, Think and Perform.

I ask students to live by the school values of Respect, Integrity and Responsibility through pride in their behaviour and personal presentation both on school grounds and within the wider community. Our school uniform is a representation of Victoria Point State High School and our students are influencers that reflect the school's reputation.

We are looking forward to acknowledging the elected Student Leadership Team at the Badge Ceremony, date to be confirmed and uniting and partaking in the VPSHS Swimming Carnival.

Victoria Point State High School will continue to observe Education Queensland Guidelines for hygienic practices aligned to Queensland Health advice and maintain COVID-19 safe work practices including on-going COVID cleaning and sanitising routines.

Please be reminded of the school's attendance target at 92%, students are required to bring their own device to every lesson, mobile phones must be turned off in every classroom and should not be used as a device. School Photos are Thursday 10 February 2022.

Face Masks

All high school students, including those who are under 12 years of age need to wear a mask, including on dedicated school transport, unless they are seated indoors, outdoors or are able to maintain a 1.5 metre distance from others. Parents are required to provide their child with a mask or request a medical exemption for their child via email to admin@vpshs.eq.edu.au  whereby an exemption pass will be issued.

Priority Rapid Testing for Students

Sick or symptomatic students must not attend school - symptoms of COVID-19. Students should attend their local Queensland Health testing clinics where they will be prioritised to receive a free rapid antigen test (RAT).

  • If the test result is negative and the student is well, they can return to school.
  • If the test is positive, the student will need to follow Queensland Health quarantine and isolation requirements

If a student becomes symptomatic at school, they will be immediately isolated in a safe place, and their parents/carer will be contacted to collect their child. When the student is collected the parent/carer will receive a RAT to administer at home.
